Hi everyone! I'm a Wildlife Science student at Utah State University up in Logan. I'm very interested in falconry lessons, does anybody know of any classes or helpful falconers in Northern Utah? Thanks!
What type of raptor have you been working with? Northern Utah seems to lack some of the things I'm interested in. I may just have to move south How did you get started?

I live in Salem. Passed the test and I am working on finishing up my mews right now. I went to the Utah Falconry Eyas BBQ a week ago and met some great people. Im planning on a RT this year, but I may either go with a Harris or a Prairie Falcon depending on how much game I can get with the RT this season. If there is no game then ill switch to a Falcon next season.
Hi group! My name is Kristal and I'm relatively new the to Provo area. Over the past few years I've had an interest in falconry, but I never really took the thought too seriously. Now that I live here I have a lot more time on my hands and decided I'd like to pick up a hobby/lifestyle. I'm interested in learning what it takes to become a falconer, but I'm finding it hard to get the answers I'm looking for online through the wildlife resources. First off, I see that in order to be approved for an apprenticeship I need to pass a test (which I won't have a problem with) but I'll also need to have my facility inspected. Now...I don't have a facility, is this a problem? I was thinking something more along the lines of working for a sanctuary or with someone else and their falcons. Perhaps I'm just not really sure what I'm getting myself into. Any help?
I guess another question, is there anyone in the Utah Valley area that perhaps I could come spend a few hours with for a day just to see if perhaps this is something that I could really get into?
It sounds like you've got your fair share of questions. I live in Provo too right now and, while I'm not flying anything, I can do my best to answer your questions. Send me a private message and we can chat.
I'm new to the forum and to falconry. My family has been involved in falconry for generations except my parents and my grandparents. As a sort of reward for having so much success with my current novel, I decided to do something for myself that I've always wanted to do. So, I'm just beginning to study for my test and license. I'm very excited to get started over the next year.
I'm in the Provo area and I'm looking for a sponsor and to experience falconry first hand to make sure it is a responsibility I want to take on. If anyone is doing anything in the area and doesn't mind a tag-a-long, let me know.
Hey, I'm in Provo as well. I'm not currently flying anything, but if you'd like to have some questions answered, feel free to send me a private message. I know a handful of falconers down here who can help you get started or point you to someone who can.
