I know one thing....Minnesota has one of the craziest bunch of falconers in the country. At the NAFA meet, most of the club shows up! All week long I was with minnesota falconers.....Literely, Two where rooming with my wife and I

Glad to hear, even second hand, that they do in fact exist. I guess dedication in Falconry doesn't translate to dedication in presenting an association website ;D
If I don't stumble upon someone online in the couple of lists/forums I've joined, or the forthcoming "Falconry Packet" from the DNR doesn't contain any more leads, I'll give the contact number on NAFA's site a go.
hey, I'm a wisconsinite. thats pretty close. I'm trying to get into the sport too but the DNR isn't exactly cooperative. Did yoiu email or call your local office. They don't seem to be emailing me back.
Well I can't speak for the WI DNR, but I got my falconry packet from the MN DNR with an e-mail.
Actually... I requested they confirm receipt of the e-mail so I knew that they were sending packet and I didn't need to call. They sent he packet, but didn't tell me. So two days later I make the phone call, only to find a packet in the mailbox later that day.
Oh, and I guess I only posted this in the Sponsor finder section...
I did get the name/number for the Pres' and VP of the Minnesota Falconers Association even though there's no real information listed on the NAFA site. I got it from someone at the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota. If you want it let me know, I'm not going to post their numbers publicly without permission.

I have a falconer friend in Minnesota who flies a ferrug. I will check with himat the NAFA meet to see if he wants his name given out. He lives near St. Paul. I'll let you know when I get back.
Tell Chase I said Hello! He was with me when my last bird was electrocuted at the Kansas meet last year.

A relief to find more MN falconers and pre-apps. I've been on the same search and it doesn't seem like the falconry sites are updated much, not to mention that I found 2 or 3 MN FA's... which I found as weird.
If anyone knows when any of the locals are getting together, def would love to go and tag along!

My names Joe and I'm new to falconry and hoping to gain further knowledge from the experience that everyone else has experienced. I currently live in Blaine, Minnesota and am wondering if there are any more falconers within the metro area that wouldn't mind having me over, to ask question and view their setups. I have been reading a lot of books, but for some reason that can only take you so far. If any one wouldn't mind taking the time, I would appreciate it a lot.
