"Falconry is not a hobby or an amusement; it is a rage. You eat and drink it, sleep it and think it. You tremble to write of it, even in recollection. It is as King James the First remarked, an extreme stirrer up of passions." --- T.H. White
I live in Nevada, MO which is about an hour south of KC and a hour north of Joplin...so if any of you know of any person close to this area please oh please oh please let me know...its hard finding a person around here. I am about to take my test and I really want to know if I can find a sponser in my area. Thanks!!!!
I just came back to take a look at this pirticular forum. Anyways, I have been talking a little back and fourth with Tom Schultz, the president of MFA, and he is going to try and help me find a sponser....but I know how busy he is. I went onto the MFA site, will be joining this summer and I am also going to the Picnic in Baber State Park...hopefully I can find a sponser there if I do not get one before then. Anyways, if you guys have any info on where to look or know of a person who is looking for a person to sponser shoo them my way...lol.... wish me luck I shall be taking my test in less than four weeks!!! Also, any ideas on if its ok to build my mews from a part of the garage that we do not use? Any good or bad info regarding that?

HI, I live in Springfield, Missouri. I am studying for my test and reading and watching anything I can find on Falconry and Hawking. I am looking for a sponsor for my upcoming apprenticeship and a mentor for my studying. I am very interested in attending meets and hunts (when invited) to get an up close and personal first hand experience. I would enjoy talking with any of you in my area or outside it, about starting out in Falconry and especially accounts of other "ladies" out there in this sport. I can't wait to get started, and the hunting season made me very anxious and more interested than ever in the sport!
