'm Practitioner Falconry 10 years old and live in America just one year, I need basic information about the laws and permissions for acquisition of a Raptor since I'm already grateful
State laws for the most part are located on the internet under conservation rules and regulations, just type in falconry rules once you find that spot.
Fulfilling A Dream. I have been wanting to be a Falconer for the past 30 some years. I am now in a time in my life that I can work for it. I live in the mountains of central Arizona where we have a lot of game.I have enjoyed reading some of the post here and am glade I am not alone in my quest to become a falconer. I am looking to work with Red Tail Hawks, we have a lot of these here. Thank you for all your support in making my dreams become a reality.
Hey Rayg58, Falcon Boy is right. I live in AZ and I highly recommend joining the Arizona Falconer's Association and coming to some of the meet-ups. In fact, we have an annual meet-up picnic scheduled around August 24th up near Prescott. I'm sure if you joined the club and emailed someone your interest, they would invite you.
Attending these meet-ups is a great way to make some friends, get in contact with the birds you'll be working with, and meeting a potential sponsor/mentor.

Hi, ma name's Entuy but most of ma friend call me Kite I am newbie in falconry and in my country (Endonesian) falconer is illegal but I'm very passionate to being this one (Black Winged Kite). What should i do Nah.. may i should moved citizenship? or going towards planet Mars maybe? lol
If falconry is illegal where you live than there is not much you can do while living there. If you're very passionate about the birds than perhaps there is a rehabilitation center or a zoo that will let you work with them. Please do not break the law or practice falconry illegally. Should you choose to break the law, please do not post about it on this website.

I thought so to take part of the rehabilitation center too but not now, maybe someday I will do it. I need more digging knowledge about falconry sir, it would be a great if I allowed to gain knowledge about falconry here.
Thanks for your advice and sorry for ma bad English
Welcome to the forum, interesting bird. There is a lot of info on this forum, however there are others as well. I like this one because it has the most friendly people and they are not rude and reproaching as some are on other forums. But that's just my opinion. Hope you enjoy the learning and communications experience here.

Hi! Name's Brett, Live in Sanger, CA (near Fresno). Off and on again member of the CHC. Been away from this site for a few years, but baby I'm back. I love raptors. They've always inspired me. Some day I WILL hunt one. Right now, my young children need most of my time, so I've very little to give to a bird. *sigh* but once they're older, watch out mr cottontail... lol. So my main purpose on here is to learn, and make connections. I'm hoping against hope I'll run across someone local who's a practicing falconer that needs a warm body to beat the bushes and scrape poo off stuff... as long as I get to see some falconry action, husbandry, and even doctoring up close and personal.
Welcome Kodiak, glad to hear you have priorities in the right place. Once you are able to dedicate more time to Falconry it will be worth the wait!

Check the internet for a falconry club in your area and see if anyone is close to you.
