My name is Stephanie Stuckwisch, currently I am only a pre-apprentice. I go to school in Massachusetts and over breaks live and work in Ohio. I've been on some hunts with a General class falconer in Ohio and can't wait to graduate school so I can start my apprenticeship. My first bird will most likely be a red tail but I hope to someday fly a kestrel, gry and an eagle.
My name is Jaxsen, and I live near Omaha, Nebraska. I have not yet taken the test, because I want to wait until I am able to socialize with local falconers to help increase my knowledge on how to care for my future bird. I have had no luck at all finding anyone that is even in my state, so if any local falconer sees this, please let me know.
I have not, but I will. I talked to my dad, and apparently a guy he used to work with is a falconer in Lincoln, which is close. Now my dad is also interested, and might apprentice the same time as me.

My name is Mark, I live in the North DFW area of Texas. I haven't taken my test yet but I've been studying the sport every day. I'm looking to apprentice in the Fall with preferably a Harris's Hawk.
I've been searching for nearby falconers who will let me shadow them on a hunt, but I haven't made much progress.
Warning: I have very little experience when it comes to falconry. Don't take anything I say as fact. Do your own research and listen to your sponsor.
I live near Meridian,Mississippi actually on the outskirts of it more to the point. I would like to apprentice but I'm not finding much in way of falconer's in my area so I am just reading a lot about it right now.

Hi I'm Caleb M Roushar I'm a resident of Aiken SC. I have had six months experiece as a kid asisting specail purpose falconer who is or was a friend of magaraite safari in missuriouri, usa. Was in arkansas at time and helped this friend care for the birds to before I was of age. The safari got in trouble over me being trained. The falconer sent releasted the bird and the same redtail watches me for some odd reason in SC. Inot fully use to the terms or words of falconry, however I know the meaning of those words and the actions.got a cheap plan as I am located in Orangeburg, SC I'm looking to get my lisence when I settle in and get aprenticeship sponsor. Iconsidering building mews on skids. I look fould to meeting others near by. Sencerly Cleb M Roushar
i live in Menomonie, WI and I work in St. Paul, MN. I regularly see Red-tailed hawks, American Kestrels, and bald eagles. I have on some occassions seen Peregrine falcons in the cities, and I do have a little merlin I regularly see perched up on a church spire about a block from where I live. I have all sorts of hunting habitat available to me, and I could regularly put my bird on rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, ducks, and geese. Of course that depends on whether or not I have a bird capable of taking geese. I will be starting out with a red-tailed hawk and cannot wait to start in about a month.
Hey everybody, I'm in Las Vegas right now. I'm looking to get into falconry, but would like to speak with someone and if possible see it in action to completely decide if this is for me. Because if so I need to begin saving money. I'm only 12 so I have at least 2 years if not more. And if and when I decide this is for me I'm also looking for a sponsor. Believe me when I say I'm responsible enough for this. My older brother who is eighteen if I decide to do this he would like join with me. Also I'm new to the forum.

a lot of people looking into falconry this season and you always hear the stories " where are the rabbits? " it might be a good idea to show a potential sponsor that you have rabbits or squirrels or any other quarry to hunt might be a good way to secure a sponsor. suburban sprawling might be the death of falconry around this part of town or even an apprentice.

Welcome to the forums. There are a few falconers in your area if I remember right. Your best bet is to contact the state falconry club (do a google search for "Nevada falconers association" or something similar) and see if they can direct you to someone in the area. If you do get to go hawking with someone, bring one of your parents or at least your 18 year old brother with you so they understand more about falconry.
