Hey do any of you guys know of any falconers across the boarder in NY near Burlington, VT. I am going to school up here and was wondering if there was anyone across the lake to meet up with for some hawking.
Not sure if I am flying this year. A local rehab place offered me housing but I would need a car to be able to use it. They don't let freshmen up here have cars.
NO CAR!!! boy, what kind of school are you at? Military!?!

Brand spankin' new to this site, and bumping up this old thread as my first post.
I'm from NYC and go to college in Geneseo (Livingston County). If any of you guys/gals with birds wouldn't mind me tagging along for 10 minutes or 10 hours, please don't hesitate to let me know.
This isn't some newfound fancy of mine, but in the time I have been interested...I've never been around a bird!!
Hello, missilesgo I am about 3 hours from syracuse. (Potsdam) I am first year Apprentice, I will keep looking for a falconer in your area, but if all else fails I guess you could come upstate and go hawking with my sponsor and I. Good luck (can you give me some adjacent counties?

Thanks for the replies, everyone.
I'm pretty sure I have the '06 falconry packet back at school....or it might be the '05. Anyway, I remember there being a falconers list, but don't recall if there was anyone from Rochester. If so, I'm an idiot for not realizing it, and will make contact with him/her/them once I get back there.
I was just hoping there might be someone closer to Geneseo or (most unlikely) someone in NYC. I remember watching a nature show and there was a segment of a guy that flew falcons at JFK airport to keep birds away, so they wouldn't get sucked into the engines. Maybe I'll look him up!
That's all from me for now. If anyone still has names/suggestions, feel free to let me know (either in this thread or via PM).
