Hey everyone, hows it goin?
I am thinkin up a decent way to feed my RT. I was thinkin about breedin feed mice and obvioulsy feeding them! I know this sounds so stupid to ask, but what do you guys think of this idea? I mean since hes going to go after ground quarry I was just thinking that this could suite her needs better.. Opinions?
Actaully, freshly killed rodents is a perfect food for a Red-Tailed Hawk, just make sure to give variety to, like a rabbit, quail, or even day old cockrel every once in a while.
Actaully, I tried to breed mice for my future hawk. Since I had a load of those plastic tube hamster cages lying around, I thought it would be easy. I have had them for about a week, and three fourths of my breeding stock escaped. My advice, use plastic tubs with wire on top or terrariums. But trust me, it can be done pretty easily, just make sure your cages are escape proof for adults and babies.
Happier of happy though I be, like them I cannot take possession of the sky, mount with a thoughtless impulse, and wheel there, one of a mighty multitude whose way and motion is a harmony and dance magnificent. - William Wordsworth
