harris - people have higher levels and stuff because they have a higher post count. You're circles turn green when you get your license, blue when you are a moderator, and red (in the case of noah) the administrator.
Warning levels are for if you do something stupid (and yes, i have a warning level from awhile ago)
Booh hoooh, I'm a licensed falconer & don't have green circles. I do have large dark bags under my eyes though. Does that count for anything, besides late nights, early mornings?
you can, but you have to get everything in order first and when you have your new bird you status will change, you will get 4 green circles and the title "UK Falconer"... but that's once you've had a bird and can prove you know anything about the sport.
Why are you concerned about new rank ? If you " know what you know ", then that's all you know. You know !!! Rank, it ain't worth a w***. Don't concern yourself with rank, perhaps you should be comfortable with the knowledge you have & more to the point, what you are prepared to do to educate yourself to improve on your falconry knowledge / experiences. You can read all the books in the world, it may give you an insight into what you may expect / experience in certain circumstances. The U.S. & U.K. are two countries separated by a common language. S***, remember Brian Plummer, he wrote books on hunting & was despised by most genuine hunters for his alleged untruths ( lies ) !!! There ain't no shortcuts for experience. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing ". Falconry in the U.S. is a different world from the U.K. Some aspects of it here are more desirable than the U.K. We probably have more regs than you, which has it's pros + cons but I believe you have more quarry & access to game than over here. U.K., rats, rabbits, squirrel, hare, stoats, weasels, blackies, thrushes, sparrows, starlings, pigeons, moor hens, coots, rooks, crows, jackdaws, magpies, seagulls, pheasants, duck, quail, partridge, the list goes on + other sundries all available in any part of the U.K. as well as being able to lamp (spotlite ). U.S.A. squirrel, rabbit ( cottontail, jack, cane cutters ) crows, sparrows, starlings, pigeons, duck, corn rats, & various small bird species that may be eligible to hunt with a bird. ( I'm not up on what though ) & I believe no spotlighting using bird's of prey. Hey it's not an exact list but I'm sure you get the gist of it.
Yeah this forum is in no way ruled by rank, rank really doesn't matter (but you do respect the administrator, and licensed falconer, moderators etc. because they are the ones with experience) but that should be an unwritten rule anyways
oh and don't try to post things just to get your post count up... just some advice

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
Rank here, unless you are Falcon Boy, does not mean SQUAT! He earned his the hard way. He owns the site, The rest earned their rank or lack of rank as many here do.
harris, if you like we could call you Sir ! or you could write rude, ignorant, offensive or threatening posts & that might get you the rank of banned off the website. How does that sound ?.
