Not sure what this is, it is hard and dark. It is the only spot on here foot. Is this bumble foot. I have been treating it with antibiotic ointment. It is not getting any bigger. I also brush her talons with water and a tooth brush. Is there reason for worry, or do I just keep it clean. Not sure when it showed up. I noticed it the week after the THA meet and been treating it every since. Like I said, it has not changed size so I wasn't to worried, but maybe I should be. Here are a couple of pics....

To be honest with you it looks just like RIP when he started showing Avian Pox. I would get to a vet just for the diagnosis at least. beyond that if that is what it is, there is nothing you can do for the bird but give it time. Last year i ended my season a month early and put RIP up for the moult and to deal with the pox. it took about 6 weeks and it was all gone withexception to some scars that went away after a few months.
Well I am confused and happy. It is gone. I put looked at her last night and was still the same. We hunted today. Tonight I got her out of the mews tonight to brush her talons and put on ointment and the spot was gone. It looks like it was never there. What could it have been.

Can't get one now that it is gone. I don't think it was dried out flesh. It was almost like a wart, except of the color. I would have not thought much about it , except for the fact it was there for 3 weeks, than gone.

Well at least it's gone. Does the skin in that area look newer? It may have been a blister who knows. I didn't see your last post till I already posted that reply. well anyways glad to hear that it looks better and that stuff is gone.-zach
I used to think i knew some things. But i'm not so sure anymore.
could have been a scab, by birds feet were covered with verry similar sores when first trapped. My sponser said to treat it the same way you were and after about two weeks they all started falling off.
