when i trapped my bird i found that she had some pretty rank breathe for a few days after even after she had passed her crop. i asked my sponsor if i should be worried about that and he informed me that sometimes they do... so i didn't worry about it. but i would still like to know of a reason why she would have such rank breathe. any answers would be appreciated!
Halitosis......kidding,They eat raw dead animals...Guts and all......It certainly isn't gonna smell like roses

Not stupid at all. It is a good idea to make yourself familiar with that smell for a good reason. If they ever get sour crop, you will need to be able to Identify it or else your bird could die. I have smelled sour crop once on an injured bird and you will not soon forget that awful stink. It is the overpowering stench of rotting meat....much worse than hawk breath on a normal day. Cheers, Weasel

Well I knew right away it wasn’t sour crop because she had no crop. But I do like to try and familiarize myself with actually seeing the effects of them. Like seeing a bird with asper, a broken wing, bumblefoot, and a cracked beak. I have seen all these but there are so many other things I haven’t. Thanks a bunch!
