I can tell you that my vet said try to avoid them. Alot depends on what species of snake where the bird got bit and how much venom got delivered. Worst case it can be fatal. Not always but sometimes. I make in very fast on every kill but copperheads. I think she knows exactly what to do to avoid the bite and I do not want to distract her at a crucial moment. We only seem to catch them in the very early part of the season. Yarak
