I came come today to find the door to my mews open and my clip to the latch gone. And the bird was also gone. It is obvious somone has tampered with the mews. I do not know if the bird was simply let out or taken. I am hoping she was just let out and I can recover her. It has been rain, sleet, and snow all day so I doubt she has gone far. Anyone that hears anything please contact me. She is a imature redtail with jesses, bells, and federal band #RO114911. This occoured at my house in MA and is not connected to the incodent in Maine last summer which was a result of a flaw in the summer mews and a mistake by a famly member.
I have reported this to Fish and Game as well as the police. I doubt this had anything to do with the incodent with the lady yesterday as she would have no way of getting my contact information.
All my neighbors can see into my yard. There are atleast 6 families that can see my mews. And we do not have any problems with any of them. I talked with all of them already. A few of them actualy shoot squirrel in their yards and give them to me.
I do not have any enemys as far as I know. I am well liked in school and people know not to mess with me or my property for fear of my friends wether I ask for their help or not. If it is somone from school word will travil quickly and they will have an Envriomental Police Officer knocking on their door.
ok even though tampering was obvoius.. lets state the un obvoius.. that might of happened.. you said ur other lock froze? right... well what if the other lock.. while you where gone, froze also? and broke? and wind opened the door? and bird flew out??

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines "Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day; give him a religion................ and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish."
Im 18 so I sure as hell hope I don't have an Ex. GOOD NEWS..........
I got the bird back today. I got a call in the middle of school from a guy who knew the guy where I trapped the bird. He said my bird was next to his drive way on a bunnie and had been hunting his feild all day. He didn't notice the jesses and bells until he put out his trash. My teacher knew my situation and told me to go and get my bird. So I dropped my scalpel and sheep brain I booked it out with a quick thirty second explanation to the principle.
I ran to my house in under a minute and grabbed my glove and lure only to find my mom had taken my car. So I ran to my street and jumped infront of the first car that came by and she agreed to give me a lift. When I got there the bird was up in a tree being mobed by crows. After chasing them off I threw out the lure and she came right down, despite the softball sized crop.
I even managed to get back to school in time for lunch and a better explanation to the principle kept me from any trouble.
