figured i'd add this personal pattern of mine speaking that i won't be writing a book soon.
It is for squirrel hawking and serves the exact perpose of normal chaps but can be removed. and i put them on my bird before every hunt them take them off afterwards to keep them from getting deformed from every day use. they are light weight too.
the hole should be punched hire in the corner and the flaps should be lengthened to your desire. They are cable tied on through the eyelet and the triangle piece is glued in between flaps 1 and2 and 2 and 3

Try www.cetreria.com if you use the forum (foros) and use the search (buscar) and enter in patron/patrones de caperuza/caperuzas you should come up with a lot of good ones. They have basic hood templates like dutch and anglo-indian but also very interesting one-piece asian designs for harris hawks, many unusual chinese hood patterns for types like the Tu hu mao, etc. I spent an hour or so getting an assortment of patterns.

It does. I made an account and started posting with the help of an online translator. I can speak enough spanish to navigate the site but not post well.

It won't open the pdf in explorer from the translation. Open the original page and it will allow you to down load.

I don't like the online translations too much because they tend to be misleading. If you use babel fish, for example, caperuza is translated to castrate because it sees it as the translated verb caperuzar. Oh well I have nice patterns for the tu hu mao with the swirled eyepiece but it looks to be extremely labor intensive unless glued...gluing could reduce the time by quite a bit I think.
I agree! Please share! I have always been interested in making a tu hu mao hood for the fun of it, but hadn't yet felt like spending the time designing one (that'd be WAY more work than just making the hood).
