I like! NICE door art. Are you open to some safety suggestions?
I'd knotch a slot in the door's bottom edge (unhinged side) so the bird's leash can pass through and extend outside the box. That way, you have control of your bird before you open the door. I'd also screw on a fixture of some kind to tie the leash to (near the door outside) just in case the door accidentally opens - or somebody opens it. Don't wanna lose your bird - especially with equipment attached. Just some ideas.
the door sits just up a little so that the leach fits under tight it and i attach the leach to the lock so that the first thing i do is tie her to the glove before i open the door but thanks for the suggestions. I need all the help i can get
I apologize if someone's already covered this but... assuming I can't find 10mm Coroplast anywhere in my area, does anyone know of a reasonably priced online seller? I very much want to upgrade my current hawk carrier from a pet taxi to a real giant hood, but the one local lead I found wants $60 for a 4'x8' sheet! I'd be willing to pay $30, tops.
The day AFTER the general election we'll be getting up early and taking the full size pickup for a cruise. We will be helping the various campaigns in the removal of their large and unsightly 4X8 campaign signs.
Last election we nabbed 6 of them.
We cleaned up the countryside and made hawk boxes out of them. A 4X4 sheet is perfect size for a Merlin of Kessie. 4X8 is for large birds.
Just turn them inside out and you can spray paint the interiors flat black.
I really like the birds making a statement on the candidates too.
Cost? A can of spray paint, a couple sticks of hot glue and some gas for the drive.

I get 4 mil coroplast at a sign supply place for $12 a sheet. (4x8) 10 mil is WAY overkill. Or like was suggested, after the election there are signs all over for free.
