Well, the hood-making went great! It turned out awesome!! I think I'm going to start selling them when I get back to Montana in a week or two. I think they start out at around $20 a piece. ;D
Sorry, sola. My hoods are hand-sewn, no glue involved. If you have an extra $50, you can pick up a copy of the book "Falconry and Hawking" by Phillip Glasier and it will show you plans for mews, "Hock" traps, jesses, hoods, etc. It's a great book and covers every aspect of falconry!
I've always ahd fun doing leather work and i make most of my own equipment. I've made a few hoods, but it's hard for me to get them sized right. I'd like to have some blocks. Maybe when i get better at it i'll purchase a few. See if you can post of pic of your newly made hoods. I'd like to see them!
Shoot Bob! I know how to make hood blocks (I learned this from a huge falconer today (Martin Tyner)) If you're interested in learning, PM me and I'll answer you back.
Sola, I just visited you site. It's nice! I might have gotten more out of it if i spoke Spanish . I wanted to see if you had your hoods and gloves for sale. Are they on the site?
Well, Got my hood yesterday. It is a tad bit small so I will order one size larger and send this one back to him ;D
