Hello there! I'm from northwestern Missouri and have recently been exposed to the interesting sport of Falconry. From what I've seen so far, Falconry doesn't seem quite as popular here than in other states. Being in a tiny town also probably won't help either, but I hope to get a start somewhere, preferably watching a Falconer up front. Again, Hello from the middle of the states!
There are many falconers in MO, although the greatest density is around STL and not so much where you're at. Still, there are some falconers in your general area. You should plan to attend the MFA picnic in Sept, info is probably on the MFA website. www.missourifalconersassociation.com/
Hi. Just moved to a little town called Marshall, about an hour east of KC. Have always had an interest in Kestrels, but love raptors in general and would like to get involved in some gatherings, maybe do some photography and learn more about the sport if anyone is semi-local.
There are very few falconers in NWMO. I had the hardest time finding a local sponsor and I actually had to get one out of Kansas. I'm going down to the meet this March. I believe it is March 15th. You are more then welcome to tag along. I am just beginning and caught my bird a week and two days ago. He hopped to the fist for the fist time last night for a tidbit.
Send me a PM and I can help you get to the right channels for Missouri.

There use to be a club there I pulled up their web site couple of years ago and communicated with them. If I remember right there are several licensed falconers. The state level should have a list of them. Contact the wild life dept, see if they will give contact info.
I am in ST. Joseph, Mo. I am currently studying so that I can take the written test. I was wondering if there are others around me (1 hr or so drive) that would be willing to chat and possibly let me apprentice to them?
