The Owl will be trained for falconry purposes. Can someone give ne soe contact information for the man named David who has been successful hunting with GHO in california?
Apparently owls were commonly used to hunt birds nocturnally in medieval Europe. This a famous portrait in the Uffizi museum in Florence, Italy, of a dwarf named Braccio di Bartolo who was a jester in the court of the Medici's in the mid 1500's which portrays him holding a "hunting owl". (The reverse of this painting depicts him with a brace of birds, after the hunt)

Could I have a gos and an owl? I mean the red tail would do just fine. BUT, a gos for some stylish flights during the day and the owl to catch skunks at night would really make the whole lost in the woods thing a worth while experience. After all, you can't just go stumbling around lost in the woods eating forest creatures without a skunk skin hat and jacket. I mean at least I wouldn't want to.
owl is a grate hunter only thing is they are more to hunt from a perch ... evolved man has not adopted the sit and wait methods ... wear most modern day falconry is a on the move sport
