So yea I'm from Baton Rouge, and its very difficult to find anything relevant to trying to get started in this area, aside from the regulations in this state.

Louisiana falconry is unfortunately for all intents and purposes at this moment very much incompatible with the internet, most sites or links that are anything Louisiana falconry are either dead or derelict. the LWF aren't very helpful either, just keep hitting dead ends so if anyone has something helpful like an email or some organization that is small that I might have missed looking online. Or who in the government I should ask the right questions.

I understand what you are saying, I have the packet from LWF its just the licensing forms and the regs, I thought they'd include that list as well, but they dont, only option I can think of is I heard some gov agency I think the farm bureau or something like that has a monthy mag or something that includes every bird breeder in the state. maybe it'll include falconers
Trust me I know there are falconers here, they're just elusive on google. I found the site for the local falconry club but it appears abandoned/ derelict ie under construction since I think 08. I've been through 20 pages of google search just on the Louisiana falconry search alone and God knows how many links makes my head hurt thinking about going through that much stuff again. I mean even NAFA doesn't have a link for a Louisiana club on their website, they have almost every other state.
You'd almost think people just up, and forgot they had computers. Unless they all moved to some obscure little know site that doesn't have enough hits to show up on search engines, I don't see any way of finding them via the internet.
the only thing that might be turning this guy from NAFA is the 2 falconer signoff needed.
there are actually some LA hawkers in the Texas Hawking Association, THA. they often travel to texas for the state club events and hunting. so if there is no louisiana hawking club then look to the THA. www.texashawking.org/2008/Public/

Thanks, killjoy I'm going to have to track down your lead and see what I can find. Echota I've run searches on those keywords and phrases many times I just keep hitting brick walls on the internet, and the LWF don't include a list of falconers in their falconry packet, probably some privacy issue or something, so I'm trying to build an old fashioned people network in my search for some local falconers so that I can talk and learn from them. back to the hunt.
