Big question is i'm wanting to build a mew for a weathering area. i saw one that would be perfect but didn't get the size. it will be for red-tailed juvie i hope. it looked like a doghouse w/ a sloping roof, two perches ..... let me ask question this way. what is the wing span of an adult red-tail hawk. will this suffice DFW officials on their inspection? Height similar to a Giant Hood, depth about 2' from perch and wide enough for it to move around with wings spread. one foot plus wing span sound cool?
the Giant hood dimensions i'm about to cut will be 24"x11"x20". is that cool? i intend to have a red tailed juvenile someday. i painted just enough area and extending cuts would mean another few days painting more plywood. the american falconer's website has something like 23.75"x11"x20.5". so i'm 0.5" short but i'm positive i saw that 20" is minimum for a female juvie and young adult. i'm cool with it just thought i'd throw it out here before cutting. bit of trepidation i guess.
longterm i plan to build a Lance Morrow Hawk Haus. anyone built one of those? if so, any comments on design?
