I built a small loft for about 15 birds. Its 5'long 3'high and 2 1/2' deep it has a 6 inch slope from front to back. You can reach every corner from the front door which also has the bobs on it. The birds are on wire floor and have 4 nest boxes. Its raised off the ground about 3 feet to be around waist level at the bottom. If you have limited space it works great. When I build my loft it will be a walk in for keeping roughly 100birds seperating whites from colors and have a no touch crating system. I would like to have a small flock in my truck while I work to be able to serve any wild raptors I see.
couple of reason for this is, Choose your wire guage for the floor carefully , the pigeons can loose toes if not done properly. I also found my dogs spent all day under there barking and going crazy so next time ill just build to the floor and put a door in.
My coop is 3 feet by 5 feet and holds 25 pigeons at the moment. I have 7 nest boxes.
