DAMN! You serious? $120 — I don't care, that's just crazy! Wait. . . Does he faint at the sight of blood? Nevermind.
I know some people in Richardson who would do it for half that price. They'd probably wrap it and do a song and dance to boot.
You know what's fun? Slitting the throat and watching what happens if / when they come out of the stocks and cone. Freaks you out if you're not ready for it. ;D *nyuk* *nyuk*
Cutting the throat is what I learned, and it's how I butcher. I actually *failed* to break a neck once. (Don't ask. I don't know how that's possible.)
So, do you think you have a chance of winning the contest?
Well, he did it. Huge thing of argon (well, actually small...) But that's ok. Cleaning out coop this weekend n putting more shavings in. Mrs. Beller, my ag teacher, really liked #89, thought we might even have a grand champ on out hands!!! Unfortunately, one of my big ones would be disqualified for having black feathers. But that's ok, a few plucks and the judges wont notice
Competition was today! And it was HORRIBLE. Holding chickens for like an hour upside down and having em crap on you etc is no easy task. These are HEAVY chickens too! Like, over 10 lbs heavy!
Anyways, after a good amount of judging (and I will admit that judge was having a TOUGH time! He was working up a sweat that melted the bird crud right off his face in the freezing temperatures!) and not knowing which line was good or not....
We made Reserve Champion!!!!! To all of you who don't speak livestock show, that's 2nd place out of over 100 chickens! We were beat by my long time rival and president of both District 5 and Area 5, Austin Webster. Thanks to everyone, especially Starburst! The info really helped out
Glad to be telling y'all that I'm hoping for grand champion this coming year, and also hoping to start breeding button quail at home. Who knows, it might be my quail in your bird's crop later on
