It appears that California is making changes to their regulations. I sent in my application and soon got a call stating that the new falconry license year will be from the first of july through the last day of june. They returned all of my paperwork and said they are in the process of sending out the new aps.
It will be interesting to see how many changes they make. I also remember reading somewhere that CHC is updating the study guide.
Anyone have any info on Cal's new regs?

I reread this and realised that maybe this is not new for this year. The info on the DFG site still states: 7. GENERAL INFORMATION. Falconry licenses are valid from March 1 through the last day in February. Regardless of when you obtain your license during the year, you MUST renew your license on or before the following March 1 if you possess a raptor or want to keep your falconry license active.

As of last year in California, falconry licenses are set to expire same as California Hunting licenses. They now expire in June, not February.

Somebody asked if the CHC guide is being updated. Yes. The new guide came out last month, and it's what I used for the Oregon Test.
A bit of a hijack: Anybody have any problems getting California non-resident hunting licenses (i.e. rabbits). I would expect to need one as I road-trip to California every year to visit friends/family.
Glad I moved out of California. My falconry license is $25 for 3 years and only $100 for the feds for 3 years. Plus as long as I am hunting rabbits, I don't have to have a New Mexico hunting license. California it would cost me about $675 for 3 years and here in New Mexico its about $125 for 3 years. Plus where I am hawking now has lots more game and way fewer falconers.

Oh it would be far more than $675. The state falconry fee goes up every year. $17+ this year and the hunting license goes up so probably closer to $750 for the next 3 years.
