So I noticed today in Autumns cast that there was a white worm type structure on the casting. It was already dead by the time I discovered it, though the casting itself was still rather mosit. I know that the majority of the population of wild raptors carries this disease and I have noticed this on one other occasion right after I picked Autumn up from Kurt. So what is the best treatment plan that you have experienced with this? If you want I can post some pictures of it if that would help but any advice would be greatly appreticated.
I dont think that this is a HUGE problem but I dont want something this small to go untreated and then lose this bird. Thanks guys in advance for any advice you can give.

Post pictures of it, but I would still get a fecal done. If it's in her casting, it sounds like a roundworm...it probably looked flat because it was dessicated. The roundworm has an intermediate stage ( I can't remember if it's J2 or not,) but it travels to the lungs to be coughed up and then swallowed. It is generally treated with pyrantel pamoate (strongid,) but I would still recommend getting a fecal done to make sure this is the only parasite, and that she's not shedding eggs of something else...and you'll want your vet's input for dosing a raptor.

Thanks for the input. We are going into the vet first thing tomorrow morning at 8 (the time that they open). Going to go on and get a fecal done and take in the sample I found. When on the phone with the sponsor I ended up digging through the entire 20grams worth of casting and found two tiny more clear than white worm types things similar to the other but smaller and more clear. My sponsor was glad I called but said it was nothing to worry too much about though to keep an eye on it. I told him I was taking Autumn in tomorrow anyways. I dont want a repeat of losing my bird like I did with my first. Better to be waayyy safe than sorry.
