In PA you're allowed to carry a hand gun when hunting as long as you have the correct permit, but if you have a long barreled firearm (rifle shotgun) you're assumed to be hunting not flying your bird.
In pa you're allowed to carry hand gun when flying your bird as well, being that you are under the same rules as the hunters anyway as long as you're not hunting with the gun.
try this site or look around the texas.gov site for gun laws

well that is AZ most of us carry. its the CA hawker that bothered me. telling me I shouldn't be carrying while he is thumping his HH on the head telling her to shut up. although I did think about using the butt of the gun on his forehead and telling him to shut up lol.

Its ok, a certain person there complained to me that I left my bird hooded in the weathering yard. I tried to explain to him that my bird was only a short time off the trap, and had some leg scale damage, and I was using the nice cool weather to drop a bit of weight, but he kept telling me "Your bird don't learn nothing with the hood on".
Maybe if I catch something today, I'll send him a picture.

That is one of the reasons I do not like hanging out with most other falconers. A bunch of know it alls that think there way is the only way. I have my select few that I hunt with and the rest I just soon do what dirthawker said, hit them in the head with the butt of a gun.

You know, of all the falconers that were there, I really only disliked that one guy, the rest of them were really awesome people. Some of the guys down here in AZ will give the shirt off their back to help you out (but don't ask them for their gun). Great people.
well AZ that one falconer is an idiot its just nice that we only see him once a yr. I have never seen his birds catch any thing so I wouldn't listen to him anyways. he is also the one that told me to just let the 2 HH fight it out so that they could establish a pecking order. I told him that I wont be flying with his bird so there was no need for a pecking order.
