I actually just took 4x8' lattice and stapled the screening directly to the lattice and then layed that down (screen side down) over top of my 15x12x7' weathering area.
Great idea!! And a little extra shade created by the lattice as a bonus. I like it! ;D
Ok, so I just got done stapling lettuce all over my mews, just like Joe told me to and... jk, jk ;D.
I finished sheeting the small section of the back part of the roof, that was missing, and shingled this bad boy, last night. Once I got off the mews roof, I started a fire in my new pit I put together over the weekend, had a few beers, ate dinner, and roasted marshmellows with my daughters. Nice night last night. Time to get the bars in the windows, and pick up my paneling from the store.
I think we should all have to address each other by our screen names in real life...
You're absolutely hopeless, K9. I didn't say LETTUCE!!! Everyone knows that cabbage is the preferred choice!!! ;D By the way, you mentioned that you're going to put panneling in your mews. Don't you know that went out with the 70's. What else are you going to put in your mews SHAG ASTROTURF and a BEAN BAG CHAIR PERCH for the bird? -Joe
"...no hobby should either seek or need rational justification. To find reasons why it is useful or beneficial converts it at once from an avocation into an industry, lowers it at once to the ignominious category of an exercise undertaken for health, power or profit." -Aldo Leopold
I have been on an... economical delay of building. My remaining "mews fund" has been "borrowed" from by my "well meaning" wife to pay our "more important" bills.
I have the windows and ceiling in now. All I have left is the exterior paneling, a small inerior wall, and my perches. I put up a couple pictures tomorrow if I get a chance.

I put on the paneling last Friday. I've been out of town since Saturday, so this was my first chance to post the pics.
In the first pic, you'll notice that I had to skip purchasing one of the panels to afford my mews screening. ( <----sarcasm ;D ) I keep asking myself why I don't just take the 5 minutes necessary to take out that plastic in front of the door that used to be the bottom of the sandbox. I'll go do that today. I'll put up trim when I have the cash. In the mean time, I'll be getting the inside done and ready for inspection.
It looks great Jay! That is what I have been planning as a combo so I don't take up so much of my dad's yard. Love the design. Where did you find the paneling? I really like the looks of if over plywood. And are you planning on painting it?
