I hope this thread is in the right place. Anyway, I've been doing a lot of research about the minimum age for an apprentice in Pennsylvania. The PFHT says it's 18, but the PA code says it's 16. The PFHT's website hasn't been updated since 2004, and the PA code site says that the law was amended that year. The Game Commission's site says:
(a) General rule. - The commission may issue permits as specified in this chapter. Except as otherwise provided, permits shall be issued only to persons who are residents of this Commonwealth and 18 years of age or older. Wildlife menagerie permits and special use permits may be issued to persons who are residents of the United States and 18 years of age or older.
...But then it goes on to say this:
(e) Falconry permits. - Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a), falconry permits may be issued only to persons who are residents of this Commonwealth and 16 years of age or older.
I called the PGC twice to see which one it was, and all they said was, "All permits are issued to eighteen-year-olds." I'm almost positive that subsection (e) means that it applies to all permits except falconry permits. My family thought that maybe the troubleshooters didn't know the code that in-depth. After all, it was only modified recently, they're there for general questions, and they may have just gone with what subsection (a) says.
My point is, does anyone here know for sure? I'd be incredibly grateful if someone did. This means a lot to me. It's really depressing to think of having to wait until I'm eighteen when everyone else can start at fourteen...
