At the last meeting of the Texas Hawking Association, in Abilene, it was made mentioned that the Federal permit fee might be done away with, leaving only the State fee. Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, or maybe I misunderstood what was being said, but does anyone else have any information concerning this? Also, if it is true, how is it coming, and is it only applicable to Texas or to the rest of the country as well? God bless-
My understanding is that won't happen until the proposed Fed. regs. changes become reality. Aprox. 5 yrs. if all goes well. (O' the speed of government! LOL)
lol, Thanks hawkstir, and for the others who read this post, Weasel already addressed it in the post on "New Regulations." I happened onto that post about a minute after I had started this post, so for those with the same questions, Weasel's give a link to the lengthy New Federal Proposal, and addresses the new issues such as "no Federal fee." God bless-
i dunno if i'm just imagining things, but i heard from falconers in my area that the feds might up the fee to $100. i had to pay 75 though, which isnt far from 100. i dont know, someone please correct me and tell me otherwise.
I renewed my Fed permit in May and was charged $100, as said before Feds may do away with Fed permit fees and it be only a State permit fee, but not till new Regs. are signed into law. December I have to send Louisiana $25 for my game breeders permit. Even though I can't breed raptors ? go figure that one out. everyone has their hand out. LOL wes

To be honest I'll me SHOCKED if that actually goes through. After all its the government and they are always screaming poverty (the poor babies). I was lucky when I renewed my federal permit, I only had to pay $45 for 3 years but a week later when my friends renewed they got nailed with the $100 fee. Utah's state fee is also $45 for 3 years but you also have the option to pay for one year @ $15, 2 years @ $35 or the 3 years @ $45. To me it is just easier and less paperwork to cooincide the 3 years together.
i just had my inspection last week and i had to pay $100 for the federal fee here in Ohio.....shouldnt it be the other way around? shouldnt the state be charging more? I mean the state does all the work, the feds sit on their rump.....blah
;DArkansas is only $25 for three years ;D but regardless when you get your license , every one are required to renew the same year , both state and federal. So if you got your permites this year gess what ? Next year is that year and another $100 to the federal office by state renewal regs. This is not a federal requirement but a state requirement don't figger !
Its $100.00 federal fee per year, plus whatever your state fee is? Kinda steep! Seems that the gun hunters would be regulated by the feds but I guess the raptors we use are protected and a gun isn't. Although you never hear of a raptor killing someone. The government in all it's glory!
