Hi Wolf My birds have taken over 50 turkeys to the ground but there only kills were a direct head shot. The rest of the time they just get the crap kicked out of them.

Fox are protected here in Utah but coyote are legal to hunt/kill at any time whether it be with a golden eagle or a gun. They are considered vermin here, just like raccoons and skunks. As mentioned above, falconry follows the regular hunting patterns of each state. If you want to hunt cottontails you have to have a small game permit and can only hunt them during their hunting season. Same thing goes for deer and golden eagles.
Last time i checked red fox was unprotected here. I better find out for sure now cuz ive been out looking for them already this year!
**edit**
Looked it up and here it is, this is for utah only, check your own states regs!
R657-11-21. Depredation by Badger, Weasel, and Spotted Skunk.
(1) Badger, weasel, and spotted skunk may be taken anytime without a license when creating a nuisance or causing damage, provided the animal or its parts are not sold or traded.
(2) Red fox and striped skunk may be taken any time without a license.
And on turkeys, at the NAFA meet last year a guys female gyr took a turkey.
I love predator hunting!! Its so fun to see them running in, then out comes the old .22-250, and you know the rest. I would love to do it with an eagle, that would be so fun!

When I had Thunder, my tiercel golden, red fox were protected but coyotes weren't. the only problem I ran into was many people around here dump off their unwanted cats and dogs and my birds, even the red-tails, readily went after "pet" dogs and every cat they could find. I was always worried my bird would end up getting a hearders watch dog but fortunately that never happened. LOL
