Ed, You know any other flint nappers in Texas? I have a real good friend that is really into it and use to go to flints nap meets all over the states. He actually lives in Texas and his name is Thomas Hayes.
I used to think i knew some things. But i'm not so sure anymore.
I have only met a few and that name is not familar. I would love to meet him and get some pointers as I am just a beginner and have a long long way to go. ;D
Well they look pretty good but I'm no flint napper. I'll ask him if it's alright to give out his Phone#. He is a pretty cool guy we pretty much grew up together. He knows a good deal about raptors due to the fact that we both worked at the conservancy in San Antonio together. I hope he gets his stuff together to some day get his permit. Right now, I believe he is waiting on a call to do some work in West or South Texas with the Pfund as a Aplomado hack site attendant. We both have another buddy that is a biologist for the Pfund working on the Aplomado projects. So I believe he is helping Thomas get his foot in the door to possibly work for the Pfund.

Where I go camping every year there is tons of obsedian. In fact its called Obsedian Dome near Mammoth Mountain. We used to pick up all the obsedian we wanted to take home with us.
Your work looks good. Do you use a bone or copper pressure flaker? I like the looks of the obsidien but have never used it. I've only used the native flint which has a lot of flaws. Kurt
Oh I went to an environmental school two years ago and we had a flint napper teach us a few tricks, but the flint knife thingy I made didn't look or work like it was suposed to lol

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
