I am just learning information but I am seriously thinking about it. I am in Herriman and like everyone else I have fields and mountains a plenty where I am situated. I have already found a sponsor if/when I decide to do it.
How familiar are you with Utah? Have you ever heard of point of the mountain or perhaps the new Cabelas that opened up? That is Alpine. Bluffdale is on the other side(north side of the mountain(where the prison is) and just west of that is Herriman. Right at the base of Kennecott open mines.
Awesome to see a handful of us Utah's! I'm hoping to get my license this year... I live up North close to Ogden and Layton, but work downtown by the SLC Temple.
Hey UT falconers - I'm hawking again after taking last season off for heavy work & family responsibilities. I took another kes 3 days ago & she's already flying 10 ft to my fist with good initial responses. I'm looking for live starlings - if anyone knows of anyone in the area that can help me acquire live starlings I would appreciate it. As I'm acquiring sparrows, I can do a trade or something if needed. Spread the word! Thx.

There are not too many falconers down that way, none that I know personally. Most of us on here are more north, Utah Valley and up. But there are some scattered about down there that I'm sure you sponsor would know. Welcome to the forum.

Heads up for all you guys and gals in Utah, the club has got a new website at UtahFalconers.org I got a news-letter yesterday and they have lots of stuff on the menu for this upcoming season. You have to sign up and pay club dues on the website to see all the stuff and there is not much there yet hopefully that will change soon though.

Hi, my name is Jeremy, and I live in the Bluffdale, Riverton area. I just got into falconry, and I'm studying for the exam. Then I'll look for a sponsor. Any information you think might be helpful about hawking in Utah would be apriciated. Thanks,
Welcome Jeremy. I know a lot of falconers in Utah. Glad to see another. If you have any specific questions i would be happy to help. What are you thinking for your first bird? Kestrel or Redtail.
Well, I'm leaning heavily toward the Red-tail, unless there are advantages to the Kestrel that I don't know. I've heard that the Kestrel is just to small to hunt for anything other than baggies. What do you think is better for a first bird?
