Hey anyone in oklahoma area wanna get together and go hunting? Does anyone have anyadvice on manning a kestrel, she keeps biting me and footing me also, it really hurts, i would love to be able to touch her but I really dont want to get bit..
Buy a glove and use a long feather to stroke her chest. The glove is for on you hand so she cann't bite the hand she is on and the feather will allow you to get the bird acustume to being touched. Your sponcer should have these answers for you.
Let her bite and foot you... If you show it hurts then you will encourage it to continue. I actually purposely try to get bit and my kestrel doesnt even bother anymore. He prolly thinks im crazy and likes it lol.
Hi everybody. I'm new to the site and am not an apprentice yet. Does anybody know of any falconers in the Chickasha area? I am NOT looking for a sponsor yet, just some exposure to the sport. I can't wait to get my study book and get ready for the test. Any help would be appreciated.
hi Steven your best bet is to contact Ryan at the OFA. www.oklahomafalconry.com/ there are a few people twards Hydro and a few in OKC/Norman. I'm sure he will be able to hook you up.
