I know it's been a while since much was posted on this. Just wanted to say "I've been there, it was great, I am now an apprentice actively pursuing falconry and, thanks to SOAR, I may have received a head start in my learning path!" thanks~
Thank you, gbird -- whoever you are. I'm glad you enjoyed the seminars and got something useful from them. Good hawking!
I dont usaully post comments as I am more of a reader then a chatter but I would like to say I attended all 5 classes this year and they were fantastic. Not only are they educational and entertaining but I was given the opportunity to meet great people and to share an up close experiance with what I have been passionate about since a child ;D Bravo on helping to change my life and steer me in the right direction.

"Falconry is not a hobby or an amusement; it is a rage. You eat and drink it, sleep it and think it. You tremble to write of it, even in recollection. It is as King James the First remarked, an extreme stirrer up of passions." --- T.H. White
Hello all - especially wanna-bes in ILLINOIS or nearby. We'll be hosting our Raptor Management and Falconry Seminars in ILLINOIS again this year, beginning in May. Our 23rd year sponsoring them. We had over 30 attend last year. Interested in some formal classes with bird handling, see my SOAR website: www.soar-inc.org and visit the 'SOAR SEMINAR' page for information. Hope to see ya...
There's still time for wanna-bes to enroll. I started processing the enrollments today, so folks should send in the form asap to reserve a seat this year.
Howdy all. It's been a LONG time since I've stopped in! It's that time of year again.
We're once again offering our SEMINARS in north-central Illinois (LaSalle County) for new apprentices and wanna-bes. Our 24th YEAR! First class starts May 12th. Still time to enroll. Details and registration form here:
SOAR isn't just about rehabbing. We've got 60+ collective years experience in falconry, and 25 years in rehab. And our past apprentices - longtime Master falconers - assist with the classes. Very affordable!! Check it out!
Hope your hawking season was productive and your birds molt well. I'll pop by now and then.
