I know you ae supposed to read all the posts before posting but I am tired and lazy. In reference to Rabbits being in a large enclosed area i would encourage new rabbits to be introduced from time to time, to keep the population from becoming inbred. ummmm other than that , i don;t know much about land managment. If you acquired a piece of land that is all sandy and gross, we have some of that around here, glacial wash, then good luck getting anything worthwhile and nutritous to grow on it. we have a place like this near my parents place, it is all scrubby little stunted oak and some pitch and white pines, and that stringy curly yellow grass, poverty grass i think it's called. Well anyway, soil quality is a big factor would think. Big bodied and big antlered deer for instance aren't produced on the place i just mentioned. My two cents. i wish i had some good fertile land to manage... a overgown apple orchard, lots of wild grapes all over, oak trees...old stone walls all through it, black berry thickets, I'm drooling just think of the possibilites..My aunt owns a farm up the coast, The woods are all spruce and fir, a couple big fields and poplar on the edges, the ocean and a briney stream. If i owned this place, which may happen some day, i would work wonders on the land! Okay done dreaming, peace.

[glow=purple,2,900]Texan ways are to use barb wire, not Bob Wire cause that was a guy that was in th city election years ago. (His wife name was barbra[sp?]) Anyways barb wire is a shorthand for barbed wired, barb being short hand for a sharp point facing away from the head of an arro, fishhook, or harSpoon designed to make difficult to be removed. So in turn you are saying it all wrong! Jelly, who is learning the dictionary is a great source of information.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,900]Thats what ranchers use to surround their property to protect their cattle from thiefs. Have you seen the metal version, I think it was the King Snake Ranch, that has a barb every inch and they are a star shape, with small thorns extending off of that, plus the wire is a thorn itself. There is a bit of it at the Pararie house. (a good country cooking restaurant) P.S. The stars radius is about 1/2 an inch don't touch.[/glow]
Never settle.

Off topic I know but since we had drifted into the relm of dumb s&^%$t to do I watch my cousin pee on an electric fence. That was one of those " watch someone else screw up and learn from their mistakes." Sandy soil could be a problem and I don't know how to fix that unless you were to plow it under a few times untill you get enough humis into ther ground to grow something else. That would only take ,,,,,hmmmm ,,,,20 years.
