My male Harris "Sky" took one 2 years ago it was one his most memorable flights I ever seen(he flew like a falcon). This year I moved 3 under my hen she tried but was left in the dirt.
Trust a tiercel Harris ;D. The way you hear some people talking, a tiercel Harris can take anything you can catch with any other species of bird... unless you go in for berkutes I suppose...
Not that I know enough about anything to reliably comment. But I love Harrisses. They don't have a falcon's - elegance, sleekness, I suppose you could put it - or quite the sturdiness of the more traditional-style buzzards, and I don't like the colour scheme (though the way things are going, before long you'll be able to buy them any colour you fancy ) But hunting in packs? That beats any aesthetic considerations.

Austringer84's male harris took the woodcock whilst folowing on, wasn't excessively high though, maybe 20 foot up. Was a great flight, hawkette was there, she recons it was one of the most memmorable flights she's seen!

My Male 'Bert' has taken one . He brought it down in a tail chase and stood with both talons on its head , it was swiveling around like a propeller! ;D
In every conceivable manner, the family is link to our past, bridge to our future.
