Well I tried it today, I had 4 geese on a small pond and flushed them right under my rt, and she refused them. I guess she thought they were a little big for her, so she went out and caught a squirrel instead. I tried ;D
I read something where i guy trained his Gos to fly them, he tied meat onto the back of a decoy. If you really want to take them, that might be worth a try

I Just found out goose season started. I might fly aerial on some. She lacks any fear when she's at weight. I tried the decoy thing for training her on turkey and she endedup ripping the head off a soft decoy. So I'm sure the concept won't be foreign to her. But she still has 1 more feather to drop (i hunted her all through march).

I'm sorry, but you said "it's impossible" when you really meant "I don't know how yet".

It would be a shame to have her broken up by a goose, its not like that is all thats out there. Yarak

I know it's just one more spieces out there that I feel is out there within her limits but at the very top of it. I don't think she'd be proficient enough for me to prposely fly her at them this season but I've seen lone harris' do it (without a scratch).

So call me stupid. It appears to me it is just human ego that makes anyone hunt geese with a buteo. I see no NEED it is NOT a quarry taken regularly by any buteo. There are many other animals to hunt. It is reckless and shows a disrespect to the bird. So what if you know of A Harris that took some without injury. That means nothing. I know someone who flies near transformers and has not had an electrocuted bird...that means nothing. Now, do I expect anyone to not do something based on what I say...of course not. I am obliged to say it just the same. Yarak

I knew you were going to say that. That logic is still flawed. So their Gos got killed by a goose. They had many more. No big deal. Enter them on Wolverine or Bobcat...why stop there go for Cougar or maybe Black bear. The same logic applies. You should not put your bird at unnecessary risk to satisfy your ego. Yarak
