Anyways, i am going to have to agree. Falconers should come together. There are so few of us, yet many feel that this should make them stay seperate and individual? Why??? That does not make sence. Falconers come together as one!
BUT- Im sticking in a big BUT here- not bad falconers. I know a few people who SHOULD NOT be considered falconers, maybe birdkeepers at best.... Some people out there give the rest of us a bad name.....
Hope everyone can see what im getting at......

Ethics make the individual, not the other way around.
This is a little off topic but ealier someone mentioned having something that would tell the non-active users that they still have an account here would be great. Maybe of a month w/o logins or so. Atleast they could delete there accounts if it turns out they quit. Also is there a way you could have something that sends a PM to anyone new that explains the ropes, and welcome them. An official greater! well just some random thoughts, from a random person.
Never settle.

I would suggest that, with the large number of threads, a request should have to be made to FB or Alex to open a new one. I can't keep up with them all.

I was thinking we could maybe compile a list of things for people who are intested in getting into the sport.
Such as, State falconry clubs Webpages that sell books fish and game headquarters links for each state.
Perhaps we could create a FAQ thread. We could put all this on one thread thats hard to miss, and just link it all to locked threads with the individial information. Make it like a tree with the main FAQ thread on the top. Trickeling down with the information selected.
That way, when we get new people who butt into threads or forums with those common questions we get, we could direct them to this one FAQ thread.
I would be more than willing to help compile it. I am also a firm believer that it might help weed out those people who see falconry as a nice weekend hobby. As we will simply inundate them with info needed to get into this sport.
It would also help those who really ARE interested in getitng into by giving them a push in the right directions, ie thier state club, what to expect, and a way get a bit more educated before asking the same common questions.
I know there are quiet a few threads like this out on the forum already, but i didn't see them untill i decided to totally explore the forums.
Perhaps we could also have some people write up the steps THEY went through to get into falconry. I know i would not mind doing so, as i am proud that i spent as much time as i did studying before i decided to finally take the needed steps to get into apprenticeship.
We also attempted that in the form of " birds of falconry" However I kinda like your idea.. it would take alot of time to make which currently I do not have alot of..
Well ill try and mock something up and maybe we can add to what you already have
I have just seen how many falconers are worried about the future of falconry, and especially the new falconers coming into the sport. I would love to help make this place the best we can for new falconers, and people looking to get into the sport.
Offer a good amount of information, but a realistic idea of what they could be getting into. Not too easy, but not impossible either. Since this is the number one hit on google when you put in apprentice and falcon, we kind of have a responsibility and i know we all want to give the right message. Because like or not, we are the new blood of falconry.
Im actually thinking about making a T-Shirt with the webpage URL on it and wearing it to the CHC meet. Just so the old timers will ask me about it. It would also be cool to get some of the old schoolers who know so much to put together some info that they think potential falconers should know. All the state clubs have thier information they give to newbies, and the info put in here should follow that also. We are all a community
