I have a question and I hope someone out there has an answer. My female redtail has 2 injuries on her "shoulder" area on the wing. I know its from her crashing into the trees after the squirrels. I put wound power on them and now they have formed a scab. The scab has been there for a while. Anyone have a suggestion. I have made an appointment with the vet, but its not until next week. thanks in advance.

Blood supply is very limited in that area. Keep waiting it will heal and you will not even know ot ever happened. Yarak
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away
Is it two areas on the same wing or is it an area on each wing? I ask because an apprientice in our club recently pointed out to me where is bird had damaged the leading edge of her wrist on each wing. He thought that the injuries were from crashing the brush. Another falconer and I pointed out that with 2 identical wounds on each wing that it was not likely a hunting injury. It was detemined that the damage was occuring in the mews and has been corrected. You may know exactly where and how the wounds occured, so this may not be a possibilty with your bird. But thought I would suggest.

Buteonut, I will bet you are right. Symetrical injuries are very unlikely hunting related. Yarak
