Hard to say, you can go on the internet to Northwoods Falconry and get some prices on equipment. Lumber is diffrent everywhere so I'n not sure. Need to do some pricing around. It's very easy to spent 2000 on a mew and anywhere from 600-1000 on equipment.
I used to think i knew some things. But i'm not so sure anymore.

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away
When I was looking into this whole 'falconry thing' I made some price lists and the best estimate I could come up with on a budget was a minimum of $1400, mews and equipment. If you go to raptorsnest.com they have a list of falconry supplier links where you could make up your own price lists. Northwoods has some of the best products on the market, but getting what you pay for goes both ways.. The most important keys are to be legal and never sacrifice the safety and health of the bird for the sake of saving a dollar.
Study first. worry about cost later. By the time you figure out if you can afford it. you will know if you WANT to afford it.
Oh btw. I just dropped 200 bucks on a marshall transmitter smaller than a cigarette (anttena not included) and 500 bucks on materials for mews. So it ain't cheap
[glow=purple,2,300]Agreeing with yarak, study and in the mean time save up. Here is a link that covers that base though. www.falconry.com/educa_frm.htm got to the link called "The Modern Apprentice"click it and I believe the information you want is under the side link Apprenticeship and thengo to the Fundemtals on the top. Agan I suggest readin the site, full of informartion, I printed most notes from there.[/glow]
Never settle.

[glow=purple,2,300]Ask the one friend who has experienced my wrath, it isn't going to be pretty when that happens, and it will not cease till what ever happened is complete over with. She peed in her pants, at the time she was 12 year old. Not sure you want me to become bitter/mad. lol, fond memories. Whats wrong with Watchamacallits? [/glow]

Wow: you'll may have missed a good challenge, adventure. Put my state- fed. legal passed inspection mews 8'x9'x9' covered with siding and weathering area 9'x15'x9' galvinized steel poles, chain link (Will use shade cloth next time) for less then $100. Looked around, guy told me if i removed his fence I could have it. Went to a few house building sites, talked to crew and got what they called scrap, I called new, was new! Looked until I had everything I needed. Alot of digging in wood piles for the right stuff, I had a Blast scavengering around, meet some nice ppl also. It took about three weeks to get all materails inculding a day with a bro to get fencing down and moved. Not bad for a disable guy is it. Had help from a couple of bro's cost me a supper, I had to cook, they bought the deer meat over. High cost UH? Surprised my sponsor too, when we put pencil and paper to add cost up. He has $200 in his set up,12 yrs. ago. Mews made out of prealings and steel sheets, From droppings off warehouse constrution site, cover sheets just a little scratched, FREEBE! weathering area- wood framed $$$ Fencing $$$. WE both make our own leather goods, out of drops from a few local leather shops (cheap) a bag full of drops cost $5-$10, My new hawk chaps are made from an Indian Princesses Elk skirt, only thing I remember purchasing were swivels, Vitamins, Bell's, and groments, gorment setter, rope, pad locks, I had a set of hole punches, made everthing from alymeris to a swivel ringed perch. modified welding glove I had. It's not the cost as much as the adventure, I could have purchased everything, but it wouldn't have been this MUCH FUN. Be Polite! Be Creative! Happy Hawkin!
I used solid wood for my entire mew. My mew and weathering area, with everything in it (gravel, windows, perches, etc.) will hit about $650 tops. You guys talking about $2,000 mews surprises me. I never even considered my mew hitting $2,000. Maybe if you went to the extremes...
