i wouldnt think so, the bird bating would hold it pretty tight, its not long enough to swing up and hit the feet if it was swinging... i think its pretty safe

If somehow it worked the talon into the chain that'd suck, I wouldn't use it for that reason alone. You can use those clips all your want, not my problem.
dustin, the bird just cant get a foot down there, and if they bated, that chain is heavy enough that itd fall and not get caught on the glove. the bird sites on the side part of the back of urhand and side of the pointer finger, not the thumb, and the leash isnt long enough for it to reach past my thumb if its on jesses and swings up. im even thinking about taking off a few links just in case to make it more less likely.
How much force does it take to pull the links apart? I use a leather leash on the glove, all it is is a extra long extra wide jess and I use a similar clip on the glove. Just watch the clips and change as needed, also the clip isn't used to hold the bird on the glove, the jesses are, the clip is there for extra security, you should alway have a good grip on the jesses.
The leather works fine for me and others that I know, just oil it ever so often. Think about it, the leather is the same stuff you use to teather your bird. My anklets, jesses, and glove leash are made of the same exact leather.
