Alright all my brother in law made me a giant hood. He modeled it out of the northwoods catalog and exact demensions. He made it exceptionally well and lightweight. Here are the photos Front of GH with latch

hey Dave L why did you make the door like that? and purpose or just for looks? I want to make a coroplast, and maybe if mine turns out good one for my sponsor.

Thank you... gonna put some longleaf astro on the perch and im gonna install some 80mm pc fans on the back to push air. Gonna make a wire pigtail from that fans that plug directily into a cigarette lighter. Except im gonna mount and extra cigarette lighter in the bed of my truck near the tail gate where the box will be.. will have pics and plans for it all when done.
My box is made from the plans in Oaks' book. Except a slight miscalculation makes mine a bit deeper than the plans. It's easy to put the bird in because they are already oriented in that position, and can just step onto the perch. provided you are right handed. Plus when they ride in the back of the truck/car they are standing sideways, which makes it easier for them to keep their balance on stops and starts. Make sense??

Honestly i find it easier to have the door open the other way, so it opens from the left. That way you can slip the bird in and close the door at the same time.

I see your point, FB. That would be easier yet. Have you ever tried a GH with the smaller door and the perch oriented the other way? Seems like the bird wouldn't be able to step backwards onto the perch near as easy? Just curious.
pecmoney, I have vents in my GH and a PC fan as well. I installed a cigarette liter plug into my tool box in the back of my truck, and a pigtail on the hood. Works great.

I just went to Radio Shack and bought a standard 12v PC fan and a lighter kit that had a male and female. Ran hot wire on female to hot fuse (one that is still hot when key is on). Ground wire to screw in frame. On the pig tail The plug had a + and a -. I ran one wire to each from fan. I do not think it matters which one goes to which, but if the fan is spinning the wrong way just reverse the wires on the pig tail. I have the fan blowing out so it draws fresh air through the vents. I did not like the idea of the fan blowing in directly on the bird.
