I make my own lures. My lures are similar to what the long wingers use. Zach's bird will hit it like a shot! As my sponsor's sponsor told me, "hell son, you can swing an old boot around as long as the bird knows she's got a full meal comin' when she hits it."

i 'VE HEARD OF SOME RATHER unusual methods of lure training in the past how much truth there is to some I'm not sure as I dout some of the sorces my self but I've heard of one pearson used tennis balls and (here's the part I dout considering the source) that when it excapted he got it back because it was hanging around the tennis courts. That said it reminds me that a rehabber who got a call from a woman who had a hawk out side her house that must have gotten tangled in something because it kept making a ringing jingly noise . Anyway I'm presently designing an RC conversion to use for training short wings to ground quarry.
Who knows could be a crock or the next big thing. Chris Foster
If you have any interest in making your own lure, i'd be happy to send you a copy of the pattern. It was given to me by a longwinger. All you need is some elk hide, heavy waxed thread, and a big ole needle! Making this stuff is actuall kind of fun
