Okay, I've been researching this for awhile and can't seem to find anything useful, so can you guys post some pictures of your rabbit fields so the newer people know what to look for when traveling around?

not the greatest pic but it was my best place last year. I have hunted with the sponsor a couple times this year here and he does ok but this is a bad cycle year.
Way out on the left there is a wall of tires about 8 feet tall. it goes all the way around like a square and boarders the center of 6 acres or more. i call it the arena cause last year it was like a gladiator arena. my bird was truly the lion there last year..

I find it the easyest to find good fields by going out late at night and spotlighting the fields first and coming back latter durring the daytime to find out what time of day is most productive. Good cover is a must but you dont want to much

Rage that looks like a great field.... i have been seeing all these fields but i am a little worried about them as they are kinda close to roads and people. i am going to try and get access to a military base thats been converted to a storage location, i think i might have to bring the security gaurd some doughnuts or something. . i dont think it will be a problem seeing as we store our boat out there i just dont want to get kicked off and not be able to hunt it anymore.
Yeah see... my field doesn't look like that, I think my field is too much grass and not enough shrubbery, but there is an area that looks closer to your field about a half a mile from the field i'm currently looking in. I KNOW there are alteast cottontails in the area as I nearly ran one over going to check my trap the other night.
I've been looking at fields that look great ALL over the place near me. The few places that I found active hawks where I figured there was probably good game, were protected "preserve" areas. The other MANY places I've looked with my poor girl on arm (dying for a hunt) have had NO rabbits -- actually have had nothing except the really small birds, which she's not interested in, for good reason. I finally found a hillside in Simi Valley two days ago. Only, because I'd been flying her with the lure, and had the lure on me (in case I needed help to call her back), she was looking down at the lure (which apparently wasn't covered enough) right when I saw the one and only rabbit of the evening. I couldn't believe it, I was literally trying to throw her off of my glove, pointing at the cottontail and she was looking down the whole time! So, I covered it better and went to find the rabbit again and the second time I found it she was looking at the other side of my bag (where she knows I keep her food) - and that was the end - the rabbit went into it's hole for the night. GRRR!!!

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away
Train tracks are a REALLY great spot to find bunnies as well as industrial parks (watch out for transformers)
or it could be a simple as the lot down the street.....

My newest one will go after anything feathered....but only out the car window....He is six years old and has only been flown for bird control at airports. I have yet to see him fly at a rabbit...He just looks at then and fly's the other way....
